WorkSafe Victoria Awards 2009

Thursday, 29 October, 2009
Palladium Ballroom - Crown Casino - Melbourne, Victoria.

The Palladium Ballroom at Crown Casino underwent a complete transformation for the 2009 WorkSafe Awards - black velvet lined the walls and a massive 6m x 24m digital projection screen created a live interactive stage.

Over 800 guests seated at individually spotlit tables savoured the 5 course degustation menu during a night that proved to be an exceptional success.

Shane Jacobson as host - what an inspired choice!  Our “Kenny” entered the live skit on a cherry picker complete with all the appropriate WorkSafe accreditation!  Regaling the guests with tales of his personal experiences with WorkSafe, Shane kept everyone laughing.

Channel 9’s Andrew Curry featured in the opening skit where ”building site” actors interacted with live life size footage of the newly constructed AAMI Stadium.  Amazing!

The Honourable Tim Holding MP - Minister for Finance, WorkCover and the Transport Accident Commission addressed the important issues and presented several Awards.

Spot lights, play on music, live camera interviews with award winners and the incredible vibe in the room, all contributed to the guests feeling as if they were attending their very own “Oscars”.

Following the Awards ceremony, the removal of one whole wall of the Palladium to reveal the sensational band “Past to Present” had guests surprised and eager to fill the dance floor as supper was served.

A fantastic celebration of the WorkSafe community.
