The Red Ball 2011

Saturday, 12 November, 2011
Silvers Circus - Burnley Oval, Richmond - Melbourne, Victoria.

“The best Red Ball ever” - Fay Duncan, Director and Deputy Chairman of the Fight Cancer Foundation and Chairman of the Red Ball committee for 20 years.

Hosted by Fight Cancer Foundation patron Deborra-lee Furness and Channel 7’s Peter Mitchell, the 2011 Red Ball was astounding.

On a balmy night with clear skies, a full moon shone down on the Silvers Circus tent to create the perfect setting for a wonderful night.

Atlantic Group Catering surpassed their usual high standard, the 3 course menu was exceptional, all the more impressive from having been produced in a tent.

However, it was the world class circus acts from Silvers Circus that were the stars of the night, from the opening high energy juggling act to the incredible 'Gypsy Gomez' and Giant Wheel of Steel.  The Red Ball guests were transfixed and then, just when they thought it was all over, the Globe of Death!  This incredible act defies description and brought the audience to their feet.

Fundraising for the Fight Cancer Foundation was brisk and very successful, the highlights being tickets to co-patron Hugh Jackman’s Back on Broadway show and a New York shopping trip with DKNY herself, Donna Karan.

Paspaley again donated stunning pearls, and along with sponsors, Foxtel, The Hour Glass, Seven Network and Lojac contributed significantly to this spectacular event.

And, after an energy boost courtesy of choc tops, fairy floss and pop corn, guests took to the centre stage and finished the night to the 80’s tunes of Discorama.
